Based in Norwich, Rachel Camp Design provides architectural services across Norfolk, Suffolk and the surrounding areas. We offer a personalised service, providing drawings, planning submissions and technical advice. We offer the highest level of service, regardless of the size of your project and the involvement you require.
The process begins with an initial consultation, whether in person, by phone, or via video call. This enables us to better understand your project and start discussing solutions that align with your vision.
We visit your site to build on initial concept discussions and refine the design brief, ensuring all necessary elements for the design process are in place before moving to stage 2. During this visit, we conduct a measured survey to capture detailed dimensions of all relevant areas and assess the site’s feasibility. This stage concludes with creating accurate drawings of the existing site for the design phase.
We create a concept sketch scheme to present to you, ensuring the building's look and feel align with your vision, brief, and budget. The key challenge at this stage is helping you visualise the scheme, which is achieved through the use of floor plans, elevations, sections, sketches, and/or 3D renders. A design that meets the objectives of the brief while adhering to necessary regulations will provide a strong foundation as it moves into stage 3.
We refine the design and supporting information, coordinating any additional consultants that may be required, such as a planning consultant, ecologist, arboriculturist, or energy consultant, for a formal planning submission to the local authority for planning permission. Minor adjustments may be needed based on feedback from planners. By addressing the build strategy and technical details at this stage helps ensure a smooth transition into stage 4.
Technical drawings are needed for submission to Building Control, including building regulation details, general construction specifications, and measurements, as well as input from external consultants, such as structural engineers and energy consultants, depending on the specific requirements of your project.
